Michael Gordon

This October, in honour of Black History Month, we’re celebrating 31 Black professionals in property. Today we’re celebrating Michael Gordon.

Michael is the founder and director of Gordon Brooks Property and Crossroads Housing and Support CIC. Managing over £7 million in property assets and overseeing more than 150 units, including a mix of social housing and private rentals, he provides housing support to vulnerable individuals. Combining property management with social care, Michael creates safe, supportive environments while fostering job opportunities and collaborating with investors to bridge the gap between private investment and social housing.

Throughout his journey, Michael has been fortunate to receive invaluable advice and guidance from older, more experienced mentors. Their perspectives have helped him avoid common pitfalls and stay focused on his goals. Whether offering strategic insights or simply encouraging him during challenging times, their mentorship has shaped his approach to business, leadership, and personal growth.

A book that has profoundly impacted Michael's life is "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy. It’s a powerful reminder that small, consistent actions over time lead to significant results. This principle has guided both his personal and professional life, helping him stay focused on long-term goals and understand the value of persistence. The lessons from this book have been key to the steady growth of his business and the success of his ventures.

Looking ahead, Michael aims to deepen his involvement in the social care space, not only as an operator but also as a developer and investor. His unique understanding of both the property and care sides of the business sets him apart. His goal is to continue bridging the gap between social care provision and property development, creating sustainable and impactful housing solutions that truly meet the needs of vulnerable individuals.

Michael's inspiration for entering the property industry came from his mother’s influence. She taught him the transformative power of property ownership how it can create stability and build long-term wealth. Watching her navigate the world of property instilled in him the importance of owning property as a way to achieve security and prosperity. This early exposure shaped his drive to enter the property industry and build a business that provides both housing and social care solutions.

We take pride in highlighting Michael's great work in the social care space. His efforts to help those who need it most are truly commendable. It’s exciting to see where his journey will take him in the future, and we hope to be part of that journey.
