Amos Simbo
This October, in honour of Black History Month, we’re celebrating 31 Black professionals in property. Today we’re celebrating Amos Simbo.
Amos is the visionary founder of BPIC Network and Winway Group. Both initiatives are driving forces in making the built environment more inclusive and unlocking the potential of small businesses in construction, mechanical, and electrical services.
After graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Amos began his career in construction as a trainee Projects Engineer. His dedication and passion saw him climb the industry ranks to become a Technical Services Manager. In pursuit of his dreams, Amos left full-time employment to run his own business, Winway Group, specializing in fit-out M&E services.
Amos is committed to maintaining professional standards and delivering excellence. This commitment is evident in his work with BPIC Network, an organization focused on improving the representation and retention of ethnic minorities in the built environment. BPIC Network provides career guidance, training, and networking opportunities for those in the industry and aspiring to join. Since its launch BPIC Network has grown to over 6,000 members and 45 leading industry partners, fostering collaboration and driving change.
Winway Group, initially a small design consultancy in London, has expanded to include mechanical and electrical installations, with ambitions to grow across the UK and into Africa. Winway champions the built environment and community building through sustainable growth.
BPIC Network, serving as an inclusion hub, operates both as a network and consultancy. It collaborates with individuals and organizations to enhance representation and advocate for best practices in inclusion. BPIC Network’s consultancy services include talent acquisition, career advancement, inclusion guidance, social value, and curated networking events. This is made possible by a dedicated team of subject matter experts, each excelling in their respective fields.
The values of BPIC Network dedication to diversity, accountability, transparency, trust, and the recognition of equality and diversity as critical to organizational performance define the organization’s mission. Amos and his team are committed to increasing the participation of ethnic minorities in the industry, empowering individuals, and educating along the way. By providing solutions for inclusive work environments, BPIC Network helps organizations attract a diverse workforce and supports participants in all areas of the industry, from major infrastructure projects to specialized professions such as tech, law, and finance.
Amos Simbo’s story is a testament to his determination and vision inspiring us all to recognize that with grit and commitment, incredible achievements are possible. We honour Amos’s contributions to the built environment and his efforts to create opportunities for future talent.
