This October, in honour of Black History Month, we’re celebrating 31 Black professionals in property. Today we’re celebrating Alex Tross.

 

Alex is a trailblazer in the world of real estate and an influential figure in Birmingham's business scene. As a Chartered Surveyor, Alex boasts an impressive track record in advising landlords and tenants on office space acquisition and disposal throughout Birmingham’s central core and the wider West Midlands. His inspiring career spans over 17 years, including significant roles at Centrick, Lambert Smith Hampton Birmingham, Colliers and most recently at Carter Jonas.

 

Recognised as Birmingham’s Man of the Year at the City of Birmingham Business Awards 2022, Alex leverages his knowledge and the strengths of Carter Jonas's team to support landlords, occupiers, investors, and developers. His passion for the Midlands market drives collaboration to amplify the Carter Jonas brand regionally.

 

Alex serves as the deputy chair of Colmore BID, helping to shape the commercial heart of the city for everyone who lives, works, and plays there. With extensive experience, he provides strategic advice across the private and public sectors, specialising in disposals, tenant representation, and development consultancy. He’s also a key member of the West Midlands Office Agents Society Committee and leads the Place Marketing and Hospitality committee for the Colmore Business District Board.

 

Alex's commitment extends beyond his professional life. As Deputy Chair of Colmore BID, he enhances the experience of those living, working, and visiting Birmingham's business quarter. His market knowledge and understanding of clients' evolving needs make him invaluable as Carter Jonas continues to strengthen its agency presence both regionally and nationally.

Alex is a pivotal member of the Black community in the Midlands. He creates opportunities for others, demonstrating that remarkable career achievements are attainable for our community.
