This October, in honour of Black History Month, we’re celebrating 31 Black professionals in property. Today we’re celebrating Adewole Ademolake.

 

Adewole,the visionary director of A'lake and creator of the Property Development Book Club. Leading A'lake's property development initiatives, Adewole focuses on creating sustainable homes across London and the South East. With rich experience in development management, he guides clients from project inception to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and community enrichment.

 

As the founder of A'lake,Adewole's role encompasses strategic leadership, partnership formation,and navigating complex planning stages. His RICS accreditation underpins his commitment to excellence in urban regeneration. With over nine years of experience working on large-scale regeneration projects in both the public and private sectors, Adewole has led projects ranging from single-unit sites to the regeneration of the Alma Estate in Enfield and the master planning of the Gascoigne Neighbourhood in Barking and Dagenham.

 

Adewole is passionate about simplifying what can seem like a complicated process.His key attributes include providing straightforward solutions, engaging honestly and clearly with stakeholders, and delivering profitable projects that attract the end-user. He firmly believes that any problem in property development can be resolved with tenacity, focus, and an extensive contact list.

 

An avid blogger, Adewole shares his experiences to help the younger generation through his blog, A’lake Dreaming. He is also the founder of the Property Development Book Club, which brings together property development professionals to discuss multidisciplinary topics. The collective was born out of the pandemic, aiming to create professional, lively, and relatable property development content.

 

Adewole's journey into property started with the wise counsel of a good uncle, who suggested he study a BTEC in Construction in 2004. Despite disappointments, recessions, job losses, and setbacks, Adewole persisted. Now, with over 11 years in the property development game, he continues to inspire others to get onto the property ladder. A proud husband and father, his most significant achievements are his beautiful daughters.

 

Professionally, Adewole has managed multi-phased regeneration schemes and masterplans consisting of thousands of homes. From selling shared ownership homes to managing multimillion-pound mixed-use developments, he has worked within both the public and private sectors. Adewole's goal is to inform, encourage, motivate, and inspire through his blog and professional endeavors.

 

The Property Development Book Club, hosts discussions on various topics related to the property development industry. It consists of architects, quantity surveyors, structural engineers, planning consultants, and development managers with vast experience in mixed-use developments in the UK and abroad.
