Lorraine Wright-Boateng

This October, in honour of Black History Month, we’re celebrating 31 Black professionals in property. Today we’re celebrating Lorraine Wright-Boateng MBE.

Lorraine is a serial entrepreneur and international property investor with over 15 years of experience in both corporate and entrepreneurial spaces. She holds an Executive MBA from University of Oxford, and her career has seen her in key roles such as the UK Regional Lead for Meta’s Facebook Community Accelerator Program and Senior Director at UBS Investment Bank.

A British-born Ghanaian, Lorraine's passions lie in community building, social impact, business development, and relationship management. Before her tenure at Meta, she spent 11 years as a Director in Financial Services, leading digital initiatives with multi-million CHF budgets, including a stint in Zurich.

In the UK, Lorraine founded Resonates Well CIC, a student wellbeing social enterprise. Its 2011 flagship event, the University Gospel Choir of the Year (UGCY), has engaged over 20,000 students from 50+ universities. This initiative earned her an MBE for services to young people through music. Additionally, she launched UV Talent, a music talent agency providing talent for shows like X Factor and The Voice.

In Ghana, Lorraine is a prominent voice within the diaspora community. She offers strategic advice for individuals looking to start businesses or invest in property in Ghana. She was one of the early founders, formerly the head of partnerships, and now an advisor to the fast-growing Ghanaian agritech startup, Grow For Me.

Lorraine specializes in bridging the gap between the Ghana and the diaspora in the realm of business and investment opportunities. She runs her Strategic Advisory Practice, offering comprehensive guidance for property investment and business expansion in Ghana. Her advocacy work at Meta showcases her commitment to building partnerships and supporting communities.

Today, she uses her platform to educate others on successfully managing side hustles and navigating investment opportunities in Ghana. This led her to found Diaspora to Home, a one-stop shop for property investments in Ghana. This venture offers invaluable insights and opportunities for individuals to invest in Ghanaian real estate. The services provided by Diaspora to Home include online courses, consultations, and a vibrant community. The business has also established partnerships to offer a diaspora mortgage service and a tool for finding properties in Ghana. This is an incredibly exciting business, providing the diaspora with the chance to invest in Ghana.

Lorraine Wright-Boateng is a true testament to resilience, determination, and the power of community. This Black History Month, we celebrate her achievements and contributions to both the UK and Ghana, and look forward to seeing her continue to inspire and uplift others.
